Two high school scholarships are being funded as a service project by the Holy Family Academy Class of 1976.

The following was written by Bernie Arevalo-Avila and posted on Facebook 2.11.11:

"Our recent homecoming last January 15 and 16, 2011 was a success not only because we were able to renew the bond of friendship that blossomed in the august corridors of our alma mater, but also because we realized how blessed we are to have obtained Catholic education and ...invaluable human experience from the institution. At the same time, the realization brought with it a clarion call to “pay back” and return to our fellowmen the blessings we received in our little but special way.

In line with this and for a start, we have decided to sponsor two (2) full high school scholarships at the St. Louis Center High School (formerly Holy Family Academy). It is our hope that we can knock on your generous hearts to contribute to the success of this worthwhile endeavor and share your treasures to ...poor but deserving students. It is estimated that the cost to send one scholar through a four-year high school education is about P100,000.00. Thus a minimum donation of P1,000.00/annum/alumnus was agreed upon as a small sacrifice we all have to make to address this responsibility . In the meantime, we already have a seed money of One Hundred Thousand PESOS, coming from a good Samaritan. We have discussed our project with Sr. Stella Aranas and are just waiting for the schedule of awarding to the qualified students, whom they would identify. Of course, we shall see to it that proper accounting shall be done and reported on a periodic basis.
